How the Prey System Works

Every Tibia character has up to 3 prey slots. Each slot can be assigned a creature and one of four bonus types:

• Damage Boost — Increases damage dealt to the creature (also increases XP gained since XP = damage dealt)
• XP Bonus — Directly increases experience points gained from the creature
• Loot Bonus — Increases drop rates for the creature's loot
• Damage Reduction — Reduces damage taken from the creature

Why Damage Boost Is Almost Always Better Than XP Bonus

This is the key insight that most Tibia players miss: Damage Boost gives the same XP increase as XP Bonus. In Tibia, experience points are directly proportional to damage dealt. So if you deal 10% more damage, you also earn 10% more XP — identical to a 10% XP Bonus.

But Damage Boost has an additional benefit: you kill creatures faster. Faster kills mean more kills per hour, which means more loot drops. This makes Damage Boost effectively a combination of XP Bonus + partial Loot Bonus.

How many prey slots can I have?

All characters start with 1 prey slot. You can unlock a 2nd slot for 900 Tibia Coins and a 3rd slot for 1200 Tibia Coins (permanently).

How do I get 10-star prey bonus?

The wildcard prey bonus gives 10 stars (40% bonus) but costs 5 prey wildcards. Regular prey rolls give 1-9 stars randomly. You can also use prey bonus rerolls to try for higher stars.

Should I use prey on the most killed creature?

Not always. The Prey Optimizer considers both kill frequency AND loot value. A creature you kill less often but has valuable rare drops might benefit more from Loot Bonus than the most common creature benefits from Damage Boost.

Does Damage Boost increase XP?
